The Gatehaus

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Gatehaus is an 11 story glass building currently under construction in Bradford, West Yorkshire in England. Construction started in 2005, and is expected to be completed in 2007 [1]. The Gatehaus is approximately 35m high and the total construction cost is expected to be £22 million.

The Gatehaus was originally proposed as a 17 story landmark building, however due to proximity to the historic Little Germany area of Bradford, the original scheme was considered too overbearing and was reduced in height to match the Victorian structures. The project is being developed by Asquith Properties.

There is expected to be 138 residential flats ranging from one to three bedroom apartments and penthouses. The Gatehaus is said to offer secure parking and easy access to the city centre and suburbs and is within walking distance of the rail and bus networks [2].

The scheme is said to include an 'innovating development' [3] with the option of leased car parking as well as superb transport links.
