The Garrick Gaieties, was a revue which opened on Broadway on May 17, 1925, at the Garrick Theatre was first of a long line of musicals with music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Lorenz Hart. It ran for 211 performances. It was also the first of series of Garrick Gaiety revues. The critics, including Alexander Woolcott raved about it.

The cast included Sterling Holloway, Romney Brent, June Cochrane, Betty Starbuck, Philip Loeb, Edith Meiser, and Hildegarde Halliday.

The show parodied current subjects, such as the N.Y. police or the current plays.

Among the seven Rodgers and Hart songs from the show, there were two all-time hits:

  • "Manhattan"
  • "Sentimental Me"
