Several games throughout the past have been classified as "The Game of the Century". They include:
- The Game of the Century (chess) - Chess game between Donald Byrne and Bobby Fischer, which took place at the Rosenwald Memorial Tournament in New York City, New York on October 17, 1956.
- Game of the Century (college basketball) - NCAA men's basketball regular-season game between the then AP-ranked No. 2 Houston Cougars and the AP-ranked No. 1 UCLA Bruins, played at the Astrodome in Houston, Texas on January 20, 1968 (also a historical moment in NCAA administration).
- Game of the Century (college football) - Refers to several games in U.S. college football.
- Game of the Century (football) - FIFA World Cup semi-final game between Italy and West Germany, played in Mexico City, Mexico on 17 June 1970.
- The game of the century (Go) - A game of Go between Honinbo Shusai and Go Seigen, which took place October 16, 1933—January 29, 1934.
