The Forest belt of Genko (Russian: Лесополоса Генко) - is a Natural Monument (Protected areas of Ulyanovsk Oblast).

[edit] Basic features of nature:

Cultivations in a good state and naturally constantly they renew. The second generation of trees already grows in some territories. The prime rocks: oak, maple, pine, birch, linden, elm. In the territory are forbidden construction work, agricultural activity, continuous fellings of forest, besides sanitary. Researching and scientific work is not conducing.

In 1886-1903 were spent by former specific wood department of job on creation in steppes Zavolzhskih of the Average and Bottom Volga region, i.e. water-separate wood strips. The author of the project and the head of jobs was known Russian lesovod, forest warden Nestor Karlovich of Genko (1839-1904). Windbreak fields (" genkovskie of a strip ") represent greater{big} scientific and practical value.
