The Flintstone House

The Flintstone House is a house in Hillsborough, CA overlooking, and seen from, Interstate 280. Built in the 1970's as an experiment in new building materials, in this case sprayed concrete, or gunite, in the form of a series of domes.

In the 1980's the house fell into great disrepair, as water runoff from higher on the mountainside damaged the foundation. After several feeble attempts, a massive overhaul managed to save this highwayside landmark.
