The Fix (band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Fix were a hardcore punk rock band from Lansing, Michigan in the early 1980's. They were one of Touch and Go Records first bands. The band members consisted of Steve Miller (vocals), Craig Calvert (guitar), Mike Achtenberg (bass), and Jeff Wellman (drums). In 1981, they released their single, Vengeance b/w In This Town, with just 200 pressed and issued on Touch and Go Records. In January 1982, they released their second 7 inch EP, "Jan's Rooms," also on Touch and Go. After the band's breakup in early 1982, Miller and Achtenberg formed Blight, which also featured Tesco Vee as vocalist. In 2006, Touch and Go Records re-released all of their material on CD on their album At the Speed of Twisted Thought. The band played on some big bills, including shows with The Dead Kennedys, DOA, Flipper, Black Flag, and many other notable punk rock bands. Following their break up, Jeff Wellman moved back to Northern Michigan and became a Real Estate Agent in Boyne City. Craig Calvert played with other bands and is now in a Chicago-based blues outfit. Miller is a writer based in Lansing.
