[edit] Trivia
- This book began a new narration order. Instead of the old order (which went Jake, Rachel, Alternating between Tobias and Ax, Cassie, and Marco), Tobias and Ax no longer took turns narrating, and Ax was added as sixth in line to narrate (resulting in the simpler order of Jake, Rachel, Tobias, Cassie, Marco, and Ax.). This order would last through to the end of the series.
- This is the twelfth book to feature a cover morph that was not acquired in the book. Jake never actually morphs into or out of his older self; instead, he awakens to a vision of the future created by a being even more powerful than Crayak or the Ellimist (suspected by some to be The One, who is not introduced until the last book), discovering himself to be ten years older than when he had gone to sleep the night before.
- This is the first book to feature a cover morph that doesn't actually happen.
- Rachel seems to have lost her morphing power during the course of the book, but isn't explicity stated.
