The Fairy God Foundation

The Fairy God Foundation is a non-profit organization headquartered in Hyden, Kentucky. The charity was incorporated in 2005 and obtained IRS 501(c)(3) status as a tax exempt organization in March 2006. The charity was founded by Stephen Wayne, who after a week volunteering for the Appalachia Service Project, met a woman who was trying to find prom dresses for girls who couldn't afford them.[1]
The Fairy God Foundation is dedicated to assisting disadvantaged students prepare for their high school proms, primarily by providing free prom dresses.
Since its inception, the foundation has been featured in print news stories throughout Southeastern Kentucky as well as covered by WYMT Mountain News in Hazard, Kentucky.
The Fairy God Foundation also offers "certificates for free hair, manicures, and pictures." [2]
