"The Fad" is the third single from Chevelle's 2007 album, Vena Sera. Pete Loeffler stated in a live show that he wrote this song while in Las Vegas.

The music video was premiered on the internet on March 3, 2008. The video features a gang of clowns capturing people who have done wrong, who then take them away and fight them.
The band appears briefly in the video as guys helping the clowns and driving their getaway van.
The video also features the clown "Jeff Hilliard" that appeared as one of the main characters in the video for Chevelle's second single "I Get It"
