The Eyes of Love
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"The Eyes of Love" was a song written by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman for Walt Disney's Mary Poppins. Actress Julie Andrews agreed to play the part of Mary Poppins on condition that a new song be crafted and this one dropped. She felt that this song was too sentimental. The replacement song was the famous Sherman Brothers chart topper, "A Spoonful of Sugar".
[edit] Trivia
Several years later, the Sherman Brothers wrote another song entitled, "Suddenly It Happens" for the motion picture, The Slipper and the Rose. This song features lyrical elements which are close to "The Eyes of Love".
