The Examiner Newspaper is an investigative weekly newspaper created in 1995 by The Examiner Corporation based in Beaumont, Texas. The newspaper's staff has been awarded numerous local, state and national awards[citation needed] for its in-depth coverage of news events in Southeast Texas.
The Examiner is best known locally for exposing corruption within Jefferson, Hardin and Orange counties,[citation needed] as well as numerous investigations which have resulted in more than a dozen public officials and local government employees being removed from office.[citation needed]
