The Essential Iron Maiden was the fourth greatest hits compilation by the British heavy metal band Iron Maiden, released on July 5, 2005. It is part of Sony BMG's The Essential series. This album was only released in North America, because the band is signed to EMI elsewhere. In Europe, an updated version of Edward the Great was released at the same time.
