The Emperor's Nightingale (original title Cisaruv slavík) is a 1949 Czech animated film directed by Jiří Trnka and Milos Makovec. Boris Karloff provides the voice of the narrator in the American version. The film is based on the fairy tale The Nightingale by Hans Christian Andersen.
