The Eleventh Commandment may refer to:

  • "Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican."

Proposed by Gaylord Parkinson, Republican Party Chairman for California, during the 1966 gubernatorial campaign, then popularized by Ronald Reagan. Parkinson sought to avoid a repeat of the sharp criticisms of presidential candidate Barry Goldwater during the 1964 national election, which resulted in a crashing landslide by the Democratic party.

  • "Thou shalt do the Dance."

Promulgated by Morgan Freeman as God at the conclusion of the film Evan Almighty.

  • "Thou Shalt Not Be Late."

Robin Williams as Reverend Frank in the film License to Wed.

  • "Thou shalt not transfer a pedophile priest to a different parish."

Suggested by comedian Jay Leno on September 3, 2007, on the Tonight Show.
