The Electric City is an British indie rock band. The members of the band are Andy J. Taylor (vocals, rhythm guitar), James Cantone (lead guitar, back vocals), Jonny Bullit (bass), and Dan Laithwaite (drums). Their debut single Sleeping With The Enemy was released on July 2, 2007, through their own label, Distorted Punk and is available on Itunes. It was produced by Jim Love, who worked with The Stereophonics.
The band's sound is a mix of Death from Above 1979 with the elaborate synth rock of Muse. They have supported We Are Scientists, The Futureheads, Patrick Wolf and in March 2007 The Who[citation needed].

[edit] Career
The band formed in 2006 when Andy J. Taylor and South London based James Cantone found themselves emerged in the London rock scene and were inspired to form their own band. Back to London, they quickly began looking for bandmates and soon found bass player and Crouch end local Jonny Bullit (“With a name like that we just had to have him,” according to James) and drummer Dan Laithwaite.
