The East Carolinian is the student newspaper of East Carolina University in Greenville, NC USA. It is entirely student-run and independent from the university. The East Carolinian dates back to Dec. 1925. The ECU Student Media Board "provides oversight and direction to the student newspaper"[1] The paper has a circulation of over 24,000, published every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during the fall and spring semesters.

The East Carolinian prints coverage for its Tuesday and Thursday editions on News, Features, Sports, Opinion, Pirate Rants, Advice Column: Just Ask Jane, Crosswords, Sudoku, Horoscopes. Recently, Wednesday editions of the TEC have ceased because there is now a special art and entertainment magazine, called Pulse. Pulse comes out on every third Wednesday of the month.
