The Dukes were formed from a supergroup of musicians in the late 70s. The members included singer Miller Anderson, guitarist Jimmy McCulloch, Ronnie Leahy and bassist Charlie Tumahai.

They toured supporting Wishbone Ash and recorded one album. The band broke up soon after Jimmy died of an overdose.
