[edit] Plot summary
Degwin tells Gihren that under Dozle’s command, Solomon’s fall was not unexpected. Gihren tells him that he’ll beat the Federation at A Baoa Qu, the last line of defense.
Meanwhile, White Base patrols the area near the Texas shoal zone doing mop-up operations. Fraw is examining Amuro’s blood pressure. He asks her when was the last time they had a conversation. She tells him she’s glad he’s such a strong soldier now. Fraw asks what happened on Side 6; Amuro says he’ll explain everything to her once the war is over.
Char and his Zanzibar approach Texas. He waits for the delivery of the mobile armor Elmeth. Char decides to let M’Quve handle White Base. M’Quve wants to prove himself to Char and most of all, prove he’s a man to Kycilia with his customized mobile suit Gyan. He orders the launch of as many as a dozen Rick Doms to lure the Gundam. He reminds the pilots they’ll receive a rank promotion by defeating the Gundam.
M'Quve's Chivvay is detected, and Amuro and Sayla launch in the G-Armor. Mirai tells Bright that she’ll feel better if she's busy. Bright tells her she can count on him for anything. Amuro and Sayla separate the G-Armor and destroy the Rick Doms individually . Inside Texas, Char, Lalah and Dr. Flanagan (from the Flanagan Institute) travel through Texas on an Old West-type wagon. Lalah, riding shotgun, feels a presence. Char asks what's wrong and tells him she has touched her heart but in reality he dooesn't understand what she means. Lalah wonders whether someone like her is nearby.
In space, Amuro realizes that he’s predicting the moves on every Rick Dom, even if their pilots are experienced. He destroys the last Rick Dom and is attacked by the Gyan. Amuro attacks the Gyan but the asteroid the Gyan was standing on has been rigged with explosives. M’Quve thinks he’s defeated the Gundam but Amuro survives the bombing unscathed. M’Quve lures Amuro into Texas.
Char and Lalah are riding an elevator. He tells her he’ll maker her a better pilot than he is. That’s the reason why he asked the Flanagan Institute to take her in.
Sayla destroys a Rick Dom and is attacked by the Chivvay and two Musai. White Base hides behind an asteroid and Bright orders Kai to launch in the Guncannon to help Sayla.
Inside Texas, the Gundam opens a hatch on the abandoned port and sets off an explosive booby trap. As the Gundam flies through Texas small mines set off. M’Quve then attacks with his shield which contains a missile launcher. Char is informed of the attack by Mulligan, and Char assumes M’Quve simply wants to embarrass him. The plan is foolish in his opinion but has no other choice to help an ally in battle. He launches in a prototype red Gelgoog and tells Lalah to watch the battle nearby.
M’Quve wonders whether Amuro is a Newtype. Char arrives and engages Amuro. M’Quve orders Char to leave him and the Gundam alone. Char is just trying to help but M’Quve insists. Char withdraws to watch, secretly wanting the Gundam to destroy M’Quve. However, he’s surprised to see M’Quve put up a good fight.
Outside Texas, Sayla and Kai destroy more Rick Doms and White Base destroys a Musai. Inside, Amuro and M’Quve pull their beam sabers and duel. Amuro pulls a second beam saber and slices the Gyan in half through the waist. Watching from the top of a cliff, Lalah feels Amuro’s growing Newtype presence and telepathically tells him to stop the fight, for he’s already won. Just before the Gyan explodes M’Quve thinks about a rare vase he will never be able to deliver to Kycilia. Char reacts and uses the Gelgoog to shield Lalah from the Gyan’s violent explosion. Amuro and Lalah sense each other’s presence and recognize each other by name.
