The Drought Is Over 5 (Grand Closing) is a mixtape by Lil Wayne & The Empire. This is the fifth mixtape in the very successful The Drought Is Over series. This is the last and final installment in the series due to the up coming release of Wayne's Tha Carter 3 studio album. This mixtape is available as a free legal download.

During the time between The Drought Is Over 4 and 5, there have been various other mixtapes using the same series name to boost up their sales and recognition, such as "The Drought Is Over 4.5" which is merely songs blended with one another by a DJ.
The most recent mixtape to do this is " The Drought Is Over 5" by DJ Crowd who stole the series name and claimed to be the next in the installments of mixtapes featuring Lil' Wayne. It featured numerous songs from The Drought Is Over 4. These statements were then denied when The Empire and Lil Wayne came out with the official mixtape in March 2008.
