The Downfall of the German Army before Moscow was a Soviet propaganda documentary film chronicling the Battle of Moscow. The film begins with the anxiaty of the people of Moscow as they learn that the German troops are advancing, but the pull together under the leadership of Stalin to support the troops on the nearby front.

The battle then commences, with scenes of the fighting on the field, in forest, tank confrontations in the snow, and air battles. In the end the German army is repulsed, and the people rejoice and embrace their saviors, but also have to shift through the areas the Germans have occupied, including the ransacked house of Leo Tolstoy.
