The Distance Between Us is a single by the British pop singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, released by Sophie Ellis-Bextor in 2007 by Polydor Records and taken from her third solo album Trip the Light Fantastic. It peaked at #7 on the UK charts. It was considered somewhat a success because although it didn't do better than her first 3 singles, it still gained decent positions on the Irish and Australian charts. The single includes an easy-listening, chillout B-side, called "The Earth Shook the Devil's Hand". A short clip from the video was featured in an ad on Australia's Vh1 in June 2006 and then in another in September.
The song was written by Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Hannah Robinson and Matt Prime for Trip the Light Fantastic (2007). The song was released as the album's second single in May 2007, reaching number twenty-three on the UK singles chart. The song reached number one in Greenland in July, 2007.[1]
