The Dish (landmark)

The Dish is a radio telescope in the Stanford Foothills. It was built in 1966 by the Stanford Research Institute. The cost of the telescope was 4.5 million dollars to construct and was funded by the Air Force originally to study the atmosphere.

The Dish is also a popular place to hike. An average of 1,500-1,800 people visit the Dish trail daily.[1]
