The Diplomat is an Australian-based, bimonthly magazine specialising in foreign affairs, international business and the arts internationally. The magazine was founded by David Llewellyn-Smith, Minh Bui Jones and Sung Lee in 2001. The first edition came out in April 2002. Minh Bui Jones was the founding editor and David Llewellyn-Smith the founding publisher. Anastasia Kapetas took over as editor in June 2005. The magazine was acquired by James Pach in December 2007 at which time he assumed the role of Executive Publisher.
