15-year-old Patrick McCardle (Zac Efron) doesn't know what to do with his life and the pressure from his dad is not helping. But soon he falls in love with horseback riding. He wants to win the Steeples Derby on his horse Rusty. He thinks he can win it with his new friend Jill Overton (Crystal Hunt) and his trainer Houston Jones (Bill Cobbs), He thinks he can beat his riding enemy Randy Adams (Michael Nardelli), but then disaster strikes...
