- Matt McManamon - Vocals, Guitar
- Ben Gordon - Guitar, Organ
- Charlie Turner - Bass Guitar, Vocals
- Bryan Johnson - Drums
The band's sound is a mixture of punk rock, ska, funk and reggae. They draw a lot of influence from The Clash, The Specials, Gang of Four and King Tubby.
[edit] History
The band begun as Pinhole and released 2 CDs before taking a break to refine their musical direction. They emerged from their hiatus with a new sound and a new name: The Dead 60s. As Pinhole they went on tour with Green Day and recorded a session with John Peel at the legendary Maida Vale studios, reaching number 8 in his festive top 50 songs count down in 2002.
The Dead 60s undertook several tours of the USA in 2005 and they were scheduled to open "The Other Stage" at Glastonbury on 24 June, 2005. Unfortunately, before their set, the stage was hit by lightning and the performance was cancelled.
The Dead 60s released their single Stand Up on September 3rd digitally and on September 10th physically. The album Time To Take Sides and the second single Start A War were released in January 2008.
The band issued a press release in February 08 saying that they, while still on good terms, had decided to split.

[edit] Problems with products
[edit] US CD with XCP
The US CD (catalogue number EK94453, UPC 827969445327) includes Sony BMG's controversial XCP copy protection system, which uses malicious virus-like techniques to hide its anti-piracy system within the Microsoft Windows operating system, making computers with it installed vulnerable to other viruses. The CD was withdrawn and a new version without XCP was issued on November 22, 2005. The original CD's disc and back cover are marked with a copy protection warning, whereas the reissued version does not have this marking.
[edit] UK LP
Another product-related problem for the band was the mis-pressing of the UK vinyl album, which lists on both the label and sleeve the same tracklisting as the UK CD, but in fact plays the tracklisting of the US version. The LP was re-pressed and distributed with the same catalogue number. The original issue has a blue starburst sticker on the cover, and the reissue doesn't.
