[edit] Plot
It's graduation time soon, and Ryan is headed to Albuquerque to invite his mom to graduation. (Or not.) After walking away from his first attempt to see her, he has a one-night stand with his mom's co-worker from the diner. Later in the night, he picks up the courage to walk in and talk to his mom. They experience a short and happy period of mother-son bonding till he changes his mind and becomes convinced that his mom will just disappoint him again. In the end he is convinced to give her another chance before heading home.
Summer attempts to find out why Seth broke up with her and repair their relationship. She sets up a romantic scene with heart balloons, streamers and huge Hershey Kisses for Seth when he walks in the lounge (which Taylor told him was detention) and she climbs on top of the table to tell Seth she loves him. She said that she doesn't want to accept their break-up based on the fact that she believes he still loves her. Seth told Summer he didn't love her anymore, and Summer walked away devastated.
Sandy and Kirsten continue to be at a distance from each other.
Marissa experiences the wild, party life with her new boyfriend and saves another party-goer from being raped after drinking a spiked beer. She then returns home to mom in tears.
Matt Ramsey opens his door to an unwelcome party of goons, hired by Henry Griffin, who beat him in order to silence him on what he knows.
