The Dark Poets are an electronic breakbeat outfit from the UK. They mix dark, moody beats with electronic sounds. They are mostly known for their soundtrack for Alex Chandon's horror movie 'Cradle of Fear'. In 2004 the band was joined by vocalist Fran Lazarski. The Dark Poets signed to Some Bizzare Records in 2006.[1] In 2006 they appeared on the Some Bizzare compilation titled Redefining the Prologue with their track 'Crazy'.[2] The band recently worked alongside the guitarist Gary Lucas on the collaboration album titled 'Gary Lucas Vs The Dark Poets'.
Gary Lucas has recently (2007) collaborated on an album with producer James R Hunter's project "The Dark Poets" The album was produced by Stevo Pearce of Some Bizzare Records and features a dark eclectic mixure of dark moody drum and bass, techno and rock tracks (most notably "Prime Time" - feturing vocals by Sarah Hilliard and James R Hunter) as well as many early collectable Gary Lucas tracks and collaborations (including original sketches of songs which went on to be used on Jeff Buckley's "Grace" album' including "Grace" and "Mojo Pin").
