The Danish Association of Pharmaconomists (Danish: Farmakonomforeningen) is the trade union that represents pharmaconomists (experts in pharmaceuticals) and pharmaconomist students in Denmark (including Greenland and Faroe Islands).
The Danish Association of Pharmaconomists has about 5,700 members (i.e. 98% of all Danish pharmaconomists).
Susanne Engstrøm has been president of the trade union has since 1989. Christina Durinck has been vice president since 2008.
The Danish Association of Pharmaconomists cooperates with The Danish College of Pharmacy Practice and The Danish Pharmaceutical Association.
The association publishes the magazine The Pharmaconomist 20 times a year.
The 5,700 members of The Danish Association of Pharmaconomists are spread within the following areas:
- 56,8% — at community pharmacies and in The Danish Pharmaceutical Association.
- 22,8% — in the pharmaceutical and chemical industry, in medical or clinical laboratories and at The Danish College of Pharmacy Practice.
- 12,1% — at hospitals, hospital pharmacies, The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences (University of Copenhagen), in The Danish Ministry of Interior and Health and at The Danish Medicines Agency.
- 1,1% — at pharmacies and hospitals in Greenland and Faroe Islands.
- 7,2% — pharmaconomists under education (pharmaconomy students).
