The Damned Don't Cry! is a 1950 black-and-white film noir. The film is the first of three collaborations with director Vincent Sherman and Joan Crawford.

Ethel Whitehead is a poor young wife and mother living in the oil fields of Texas. After buying her son a bicycle and infuriating her blue collar husband with such extravagance, the boy is run over and killed when returning home at his father's shouted command. She leaves her husband and parents determined to get the good things in life. Without any work experience, Edith quickly learns to use her ample charms and ambition to get ahead, one man at a time, eventually becoming the moll to a Vegas mobster who lives in a large mansion, his slightly nutty mother drifting through. But everything has a price and events spiral downward in true film noir fashion.
