"The Curse" is the 5th episode of the drama television series NCIS.

NCIS investigates a cargo pod found by a deer hunter when a Navy lieutenant, missing presumed dead, is found mummified inside. Ten years ago Lieutenant Schills vanished along with $1 million from the ship's safe and as a result, he was suspected of stealing the money and dishonerably discharged. The NCIS team must figure out not only how Lieutenant Schills ended up in the pod but where the missing money went and who the real thief was.

Schill's wife subsequently re-married and her current husband, also a former sailor who knew Schills, is suspected of his murder. However, the focus shifts to two sailors who served with the lieutenant while on the ship and had access to the money. One moved to Mexico (and is subsequently discovered to have been murdered) while the other, Erin, is living the good life apparently from a lottery win.
