- The Crusher, the name given to a new kind of tackle in Australian Rugby League. The NRL decided to crack down on this kind of tackle in 2007 amid fears players would suffer serious injury when two or more players pressed down on their head and neck. The phrase "crusher" was coined by Seven sport producer Jon Underwood.
