The Cottage (2008) is a darkly comic British horror film, written and directed by Paul Andrew Williams.
[edit] Plot
Two brothers, David and Peter (Andy Serkis and Reece Shearsmith), kidnap underworld crime boss Arnie's daughter Tracey (Jennifer Ellison), and hold her for ransom in a secluded country cottage. However, when Arnie's treacherous, dimwitted son Andrew delivers the ransom to David and Peter, they find out they have been tricked and knows unwittingly he's been followed by his father's korean bloodthirsty henchman, a.k.a The Oriental Thugs. Tracey holds Peter hostage and trepasses unknown land and did not know that a sadistic, psychotic serial killer The Farmer (Dave Legeno) owns the land and begins quite literally tearing into them all.
The cast of The Cottage also includes Steve O'Donnell who starred in Churchill: The Hollywood Years and the British sitcom Bottom.
[edit] Critical reception
The film received a good review on Rotten Tomatoes, gaining 77% positive, top critics 86% and users gave it a 72%. It also currently has a 6.3 rating on IMDB.
