The Cosmos Rocks is the working title of a Queen + Paul Rodgers album set to be released on 1 September 2008. It will contain new tracks written by Brian May, Roger Taylor and Paul Rodgers.[1]

According to Paul Rodgers, the band have recorded nine songs for the upcoming album. The band are estimated to have been working on it for the last year, with all members writing their own songs, as well as each of them taking turns playing bass, after the retirement of bassist John Deacon. All three members will be singing as opposed to just Rodgers singing as the lead singer for the whole duration of the album, in respects to former lead singer, Freddie Mercury.

One new song entitled "Take Love" was played on the North American leg of their tour in 2006. But according to Paul Rodgers in a recent interview with Billboard magazine, that the song is yet to be recorded, and therefore may not make the final cut of the album. Rodgers also debuted a new song on his last tour of the UK in 2006 entitled "Warboys (A Prayer for Peace)." This song made an appearance on his 2006 release Live In Glasgow CD/DVD. Queen have also recorded a handful of tracks for the 46664 campaign. These may also see the light of day with this release as Brian May hinted on his website after a letter was received asking about the possibility of releasing the track 46664 The Call as a download single. On November 29, 2007, May confirmed that "Say It's Not True," another Queen track for 46664 penned by Roger Taylor, would be released as a free download-only single.
On Queenonline.com it was revealed that Say It's Not True will be on the new album, as well as an unnamed cover song. Another track called "C-lebrity" was performed by the band on the last show of ITV's Al Murray's Happy Hour. In edition number 119 (June 2008) of Classic Rock magazine May, Taylor and Rodgers openly discuss new tracks including ‘C-lebrity’, ‘Say It’s Not True’, ‘Call Me’, ‘We Believe’, ‘Whole House Rocking’ and the inclusion of a cover version on the new album. Queenonline.com confirmed that the cover song was, in fact, "Runaway" by Del Shannon but that it would only be used as part of the album promotion and would not feature on the album. On a Virgin Radio commercial a quick 2 second sneek preview of The Cosmos Rocking was heard

The band also announced a Queen and Paul Rodgers 14-nation European tour, starting in September.
The 2008 tour kicks off in Russia with two dates at Moscow's SCO Olympic Arena, and then follows a path through Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Switzerland and the Netherlands before arriving in the UK early October for 6 dates including London's O2 Arena on October 13.
The UK dates see the band additionally play Nottingham, Glasgow, Cardiff and Birmingham with a final UK date at Liverpool Arena on October 18 before continuing on to Spain, Hungary, Serbia, Czech Republic and Austria for seven further dates.
