The Corners are an English 3-piece post-punk band from Rothwell, near Northamptonshire. The band consists of three male friends who went to the same school and one day decided to form their own band. The band recently signed to One Act Records, which is run by the band themselves. The label also features Joshua and Daniel's side project "One Act Dog."

[edit] Critical Acclaim

Although the acclaim success has only been within the shores of the UK, it has been high praise. Reviews for their first release, Pettin EP, were all positive and gained the band airplay on radio stations and helped them fill venues throughout the local area and the UK. They recently toured with The Stitches, a band famous for comprising of seven bean flutists and a drummer. The choice to tour with them was seen as "brave" and "surprising."

[edit] Live Shows

The Corners live shows are said to be raucous and chaotic with many nearing riots by the end. One gig that many fans regard as their best was viewed by only 6 people in the drummer, Robin's chalet at the end of his garden. It ended with Joshua smashing his bass guitar and Daniel breaking four of his toes by kicking his amp during a drunken outburst.

The setlist for the infamous gig was: Dancing King, Pettin, Overambitious, Speaking Is Easy, Achtung, The Tale Of Annie Pick and The Flies With Hats And Canes (extended version with Bean Flute solo)

[edit] Split Rumours

Although adored by fans, there recently had been rumours of a split when a blog was posted by Daniel who was apparently "drunk" at the time. It read: "yes the band may have been a big part of my life, but I don't want to be remembered as the guy from the corners. It's near the end and we all feel the same about the band. we'll see though."

However, since the blog was posted all the members have confirmed that they will not be splitting and plan to tour in late 2008 after recording and writing new material for their debut album.
