The Cork Soakers
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Cork Soakers was a comedic bit written by the comedian Redd Foxx that was popularized on an episode of Saturday Night Live sketch featuring Jimmy Fallon, Horatio Sanz, and the guest-host of that night's show, Janet Jackson. It first aired live on April 10, 2004.
The basis of the sketch is the phonetic similarity between the terms cork soaker and cock sucker. It takes place in a winery, where Fallon and Sanz talk to a group of tourists taking a tour. They repeatedly make puns about cork soaking, the last step of the wine bottling process. The original bit written by Foxx also drew phonetic similarities between the terms mother frocker and mother fucker.
This skit is also known for Jackson's frequent giggling fits whenever she had to refer to soaking corks.
