The Conventioneers is a television program currently on BITE TV. Hosts Jason Agnew and Matt Chin travel to a convention, usually in Toronto, each episode. Conventions covered in the past include the Shoppers Drug Mart sponsored LIFEFest, The Total Wedding Show, Everything to do With Sex Show, and Anime North. The Conventioneers interview convention attendees while participating in the events. In the beginning of each show, they air a sketch, for example, for the Total Wedding Show, they did a parody-sketch of the Wedding Crashers.
In the last bit of the episode Matt and Jay try to "fit in", meaning that they will dress up to what the event is. At the Total Wedding Show, they dressed in tuxedos, at Wakestock, they wore bikinis, and during their trip to Calgary, they dressed up as cowboys. However, when they attend Anime North, they choose to not fit in.
There has been some controversy surrounding them regarding Anime North. After their behaviour at the convention, they were banned from the Doubletree Hotel property (which hosts the convention) and subsequently barred from the convention. When given a petition to bring back the Conventioneers, Anime North staff responded that they were banned by the management of both venues and were not welcome on their (Double Tree and Toronto Congress Centre) property, and that it was out of their hands.
