The Classic Metal Show

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

THE CLASSIC METAL SHOW is a 6-hour heavy metal music/talk show hosted by Wendell Neeley and Chris Akin. The show was initially created by Wendell Neeley in January of 1996 on 88.9FM, WSTB in Streetsboro, OH. Upon moving from Ohio to Chicago in 2003, Neeley took the show to the Internet in March of 2003, with host Chris Akin joining the show in 2004. The show has changed from its inception. When it first debuted, it was primarily a music program. It has now morphed to a 50/50 metal/shock jock like talk show. By many, it's called an "Opie and Anthony meets the original "Headbanger's Ball"" type of show. The show features interviews with hard rock and heavy metal bands ranging from as light as Poison to as heavy as Slayer. It also features interviews with the artists on a weekly basis.
