The Children's Voice

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Children's Voice campaign is run by the Children's High Level Group (CHLG), a charity co-founded by MEP Emma Nicholson and the author JK Rowling. It campaigns for child rights across Europe, where over a million children and teenagers are growing up in institutions, often in cramped and unhygenic conditions.

One of its central aims is to move children out of institutions and into loving families, by building support systems to ensure parents can care for their own children and by improving national fostering and adoption programmes for children who are separated from their parents.

The Children's High Level Group is already working in Romania, Moldova and the Czech Republic and pilot projects will be starting shortly in Armenia and Georgia. It wants to extend its work to reach vulnerable children across the whole of Europe.
