[edit] Career

They formed in 1961 and signed to Fontana Records in 1965, debuting with the single "If You Walk Out". They toured Italy and released several Italian language songs there to moderate success.[1]

In 1968 The Casuals switched to Decca Records, where they released the single "Jesamine" (co-penned by Marty Wilde under the pseudonym Frere Manston), which hit #2 on the UK Singles Chart late in 1968.[1] The follow-up single, "Toy", also made the Top 40, peaking at #30. They were successful in Germany as well; "Jesamine" hit #9 there, and "Toy" went to #27. Neither the following five singles nor their LP, Hour World, managed to chart, and the group was eventually dropped by Decca in 1971.[1] They signed to Parlophone in 1972 and released "Tara Tiger Girl", but the single went nowhere, and they left Parlophone for Dawn Records in 1974. After their final single, "Witch", flopped, they disbanded in 1975.
