The Cancer Council New South Wales [1] (TCCNSW) is an independent, community-funded organisation dedicated to the defeat of cancer. Based in Sydney in the state of New South Wales, Australia, its main activities include: cancer prevention and education campaigns; advocacy; patient support and information services; and epidemiological and psychosocial research.

TCCNSW also invests about $11 million a year in cancer research projects based in numerous hospitals, research centres and universities. The Council runs many fund-raising events including Relay For Life, Girls' Night In, Pink Ribbon Day, Daffodil Day, Posh Auction and Australia's Biggest Morning Tea.

It also has a well-developed retail arm of eight stores, specialising in sun protection equipment, clothing and products and an online catalogue. [2]

Nine regional offices bring programs into communities throughout the state. These offices are based at Ballina, Central Coast, Coffs Harbour, Newcastle, Orange, Parramatta, Tamworth, Wagga Wagga and Wollongong.

The organisation became a company limited by guarantee in 2006 and has an elected Members' Assembly and board of directors. The current chief executive officer is Dr Andrew Penman.
