The Butterfly Club

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Butterfly Club, founded in 1999 by Matthew Grant, is a performing arts venue in South Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and one of the hosts of events for the Melbourne Cabaret Festival.[1] Drawing from a growing interest in cabaret, the Club achieved greater prominence in 2002 when it began to be seen by others as a viable professional space.[2] Despite a threat of closure due to a change in ownership in 2003,[3] by 2006 the Club was Melbourne's only full-time cabaret venue.[1]
