[edit] Plot
The episode starts with Cera leading Littlefoot to a shortcut. The two take the short-cut, which apparently was a steep hill, near a grassy hill in the great valley. At the bottom, Littlefoot and Cera see a wandering herd entering the great valley. They realize that the herd belongs to an old friend of theirs, Ali. The two look through out the herd and finally locate Ali, asking her if she wanted to go play with them. A young longneck named Rhett reveals himself and says that Ali was his friend, not theirs. Littlefoot and Cera question why Ali is friends to Rhett, and she answers that Rhett was very brave, and fought off sharpteeth on multiple occasions. Littlefoot and Cera do not believe Rhett's claims, and go back to their other five friends to tell them of Ali's friend. Chomper comments that Rhett would probably run away if he saw a real sharptooth, which gives Cera the idea to make Chomper pretend to be mean to scare off Rhett and prove his stories as lies. The group practices in a bush and, after a few unsuccsesfull sessions, are able to act out a believable sharptooth attack in front of Rhett and Ali. When Chomper makes his appearance, Rhett runs away in terror. The seven dinosaurs then laugh at this, with Ali in confusion. The group explains that Chomper is a friend of theirs, and they were faking the attack to show her that Rhett's stories were nothing but lies. Ali sees this and agrees to play with them.
Meanwhile, Rhett is off to find his herd, explaining to the adults that there was a vicious sharptooth. The adults are alarmed at this and run over to where Littlefoot and his friends are. The herd sees Chomper and chases him through the valley, terrifing him in the process. As Chomper's friends try in vain to catch up with the herd to tell them that Chomper wasn't bad, the herd continued to chase Chomper, some charging at him and knocking down trees, showing their deadly intent. Eventually, they corner Chomper and a Longneck known as the Old One is about to give the finishing blow when Chomper tearfully begs her not to hurt him. The fact that a sharptooth was talking to her distracted her and her herd long enough for Littlefoot and his friends to show up and explain the situation. When the Old One learns that Rhett has been telling lies, she becomes angry with him. The Old One then says to the seven dinosaurs that it is dangerous to trick each other. As her group are about to go back to grazing, Littlefoot and his friends offer to be Rhett's friends, which he eagerly accepts. The group, along with Ali and Rhett, then play together.
[edit] Notes
- It is obvious in this episode that Ali's herd had the intention to kill Chomper, as they had cornered him and not allowed him anyway out of the valley. This shows that, no matter what age the sharptooth may be, that herbivore dinosaurs treat sharpteeth with deadly force.
- Elizabeth Daily (a.k.a. E.G. Daily), who voiced Rhett in this episode, was also the voices of Tommy Pickles on Rugrats and All Grown Up!, Buttercup on The PowerPuff Girls, Babe in Babe: Pig in the City, also released by Universal, Baby Mumble in Happy Feet, Froggy in The Little Rascals, also produced by Universal and Amblin, and Lorenzo Odone in some shots of Lorenzo's Oil, also released by Universal.
