The Boys Next Door (1996 film)

The Boys Next Door is a 1996 television movie about four mentally challenged men, Norman (Nathan Lane), Lucien (Courtney B. Vance), Arnold (Michael Jeter) and Barry (Robert Sean Leonard) who share a house.

The movie is based on a play by Tom Griffin which was published in 1983 under the title Damaged Hearts, Broken Flowers and again in 1988 under the title The Boys Next Door.

The protagonists try to make sense of a mixed-up world, looking to Jack (Tony Goldwyn), their social worker, for help with everything from runaway rodents to helping Norman who has a new girlfriend (Mare Winningham).

The movie was produced by Hallmark Entertainment as a Hallmark Hall of Fame Movie.
