The Boston Museum Project

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Boston Museum Project is a planned history museum for the city of Boston, Massachusetts in the mold of other city's history museums such as the Chicago History Museum and the Museum of London. It will occupy one of the parcels of land created by the Big Dig. In October 2005 the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority designated the project as the official developer for parcel 12 of the new Rose Kennedy Greenway, adjacent to Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market.[1]

The planned building will be designed by Moshe Safdie and Associates and is estimated to cost 89 million dollars.[2] The proposal includes exhibition galleries, theater spaces, a series of education and meeting rooms, a grand hall for large public meetings and a grand concourse. The building will also feature restaurants and an information center, as well as green space.
