The Block was a UK television series broadcast on ITV in the summer of 2004.The shows was a reality gameshow following 4 couples doing up four identical apartments in Brighton. They had to live in the apartments while continued to live their daily lives. They had a budget of £25,000. Each week they had to do up a room. At the end of each week's episode the room was judgedby property expert Nicholas Cowell (Brother of Simon Cowell) and the best couple won a prize (Furniture or building materials). The show was presented by Lisa Rogers.

The show, which had been so popular in Australia where it originated, was not successful in the UK and after it premiered in a prime-time ITV slot, was moved to the "graveyard slot" of after 11pm. A second series was not commissioned.
