The Beach Nut is the 11th animated cartoon short subject in the Woody Woodpecker series. Released theatrically on October 16, 1944, the film was produced by Walter Lantz Productions and distributed by Universal Pictures.

Vacationer Wally Walrus is busy beating Woody Woodpecker into submission on a beach boardwalk, telling the crowd the reasons behind his motive. Wally decides to go to the beach for some R&R, but is constantly disturbed by beachgoer Woody, who is making the walrus' life a living hell.

The Beach Nut marked the debut of Woody Woodpecker's first steady foil, Wally Walrus. Voiced by actor Hans Conried, Wally would become Woody's primary arch ememy steadily through to 1948, before being more or less replaced with Buzz Buzzard in Wet Blanket Policy.
