The Basin Music Festival
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Basin Music Festival is held in March each year in the small fringe suburb/village of The Basin at the foot of Mount Dandenong.
Growing out of the music found in the community, the festival presents a very eclectic blend of musical styles from jazz and blues to rock, folk, country and Celtic with some world music and a cappella and a touch of orchestral and specialised bands/acts. The musical styles are decided by the musical interests and talents found throughout the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne and the Dandenong Ranges.
In addition to the music found throughout seven indoor venues and on the free stage in the park, the festival includes exhibitions and displays by community groups and organisations, including the local Fire Brigade who also share in the profits, with activities for kids and a very laid-back country village atmosphere.
Specific information about times, tickets and performances can be found on The Basin Music Festival[1] website.
