The Barclays is a golf tournament on the PGA Tour, played at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, New York.

The tournament began in 1967 as the Westchester Classic. Beginning in 1976 it underwent a series of name sponsorships (detailed below); the name of the event has evolved to the point that, since 1990, it no longer contains the name of its host course or location. Like many such events that have undergone a series of name changes over the years, among golfers on tour and many fans it is still known by its traditional name, "The Westchester."

The tournament was usually played during June of each year, either the week before (in even-numbered years) or the week after (in odd-numbered years) the U.S. Open. It had its greatest attendance in 2001 when Tiger Woods participated, although two days of heavy rains disrupted play. It had one of its more exciting finishes in 2005, when Padraig Harrington eagled the par-5 18th hole with a 65-foot putt to win the title. The most frequent winner of the tournament is Vijay Singh, with three trophies.

In 2007 the tournament was played in August, to lead off the PGA Tour's new playoff system for the FedEx Cup.

The 2008 tournament will be played at Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, New Jersey. This leaves the Westchester Country Club in without a PGA Tour event for the first time in 40 years. Under an amended agreement, The Barclays will return to Westchester at least once before 2012. Westchester had been a Tour venue since 1967, but its date moved from June to late August in 2007 as the first of four PGA Tour playoff events. It was the only playoff event that Tiger Woods did not play. The tour previously said the 2009 Barclays would be at Liberty National in Jersey City, New Jersey. Westchester agreed in 2006 that it would hold the tournament three of the next six years, including 2007 and 2008, with an option for a fourth.
