The Ballad of Jed Clampett
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"The Ballad of Jed Clampett" was the theme song for The Beverly Hillbillies TV show and movie. The song was written by Paul Henning, and sung by Jerry Scoggins accompanied by bluegrass musicians Flatt and Scruggs. It was #44 on the music charts in 1962. The song provided the back story for the series.
The often-used phrase "swimmin' pools... movie stars" comes from this song.
