The BMW is a major Group 1 horse race held over 2400m (a mile and a half). It is held each year in April at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse in Sydney Australia, and is Australia's richest Weight for Age staying race. The prizemoney in 2008 was AUD$2,271,400. It is run on the same day as the Golden Slipper.
